Each ball of Tufty is made up of alternate long lengths of smooth and furry yarn. The yarn amounts quoted in the patterns assume that you knit the garment using the yarn just as it comes from the ball, which will give a attractive slightly irregular effect. If you would prefer a more regular effect you can achieve this by choosing to start each piece of knitting at the same point in the ball (e.g. you could cast on each sleeve at the start of a length of smooth yarn). If you choose to do this we would advise you to keep any lengths of yarn which you cut off for use later in the garment. |
